DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A tree fell on a house in Daniel Island during severe storms in the Lowcountry Thursday night.

It happened at a home in the area of Blakeway and Schooner streets.

John Myers said a tree uprooted and fell on his neighbor's home.

"Lightning had just died down, and I saw my neighbor's door open," Myers said."I yelled to them to make sure they were okay."

Myers' neighbors were okay but their house was not.

According to Myers, the house suffered roof damage, and there were leaks in the upstairs bedroom.

Myers said the tree was a legend oak which was very old and in poor health.

"[Our neighbor] was going to look at having it removed but the storm took care of that for them!" Myers said.
