CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Almost two months after a teen was arrested near the City Market in downtown Charleston for illegally selling Palmetto Roses, a new panel concerning their sale will meet for the for the first time on Monday night.

According to the agenda, the panel will discuss the history of the palmetto artisan program and the current state of the program. Two Charleston police officers will also discuss the current issues surrounding the sale of the Palmetto Roses. Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg will also speak.

Public comment will also take place before a discussion about the next steps of the program.

One step has already been taken in allowing children who are part of the program to sell at Riverdogs games.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday night in the first-floor public meeting room at the Gaillard Center.
