Vehicle fire sparks brush fire in McClellanville

MCCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Firefighters say a vehicle fully engulfed in flames Sunday afternoon sparked a brush fire nearby.

The incident happened along Highway 17 and Rutledge Road in McClellanville, according to the Awendaw-McClellanville Fire District.

The car was fully engulfed in flames and sparked a fire that claimed two acres of brush and light forest, the post states.

The fire was listed as contained as of 6:15 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters say the fire was not caused by severe weather.
