Police identify man charged with murder in Goose Creek shooting

Police have arrested a man in connection to a homicide at an apartment in Goose Creek.

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCSC) - Police have arrested a man in connection to a homicide at an apartment in Goose Creek.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Davon Dwayne Devore just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Millburn Avenue in Goose Creek. He is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted violent felon, according to jail records.

They say they were able to arrest the suspect thanks to multiple leads and tips.

Police responded to the Saint James at Goose Creek apartment complex on Channing Way following reports of a shooting victim.

The caller reportedly told dispatch that a man with a gunshot wound to the head was on her front porch.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell has identified the victim as 29-year-old Brandon Gregory Cobbs Jr. from Goose Creek.

Police say Devore left the scene in a gray Nissan Sedan.
