MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the Moncks Corner man who died after a shooting late Wednesday night outside a gas station.

Evan Dwellen, 31, died Thursday at Trident Medical Center from multiple gunshot wounds, Chief Deputy Coroner Kelly Kraus said.

Moncks Corner Police say the shooting happened at around 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Parker’s Kitchen on South Highway 52. Two people, Dwellen, and one other victim, were wounded.

Earlier on Thursday, police said they arrested a Summerville man, 20-year-old Adrian Gadsden Jr., and charged him with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

When police responded to the scene, they found Dwellen suffering from multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds and a second victim had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, Police Chief Steve Young said.

There was no update on the condition of the second victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Colton Whitley at 843-719-7930 or c.whitley@monckscornersc.gov.

Gadsden was being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
