When they arrived, they found a 17-year-old shooting victim whom the coroner identified as Deangelo Dover Jr. of Summerville. Dover was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:45 p.m., Coroner Paul Brouthers said.

“Our deputies arrived on scene just four minutes after the call, helping us gather critical information that was instrumental in identifying the suspect responsible for this crime,” Sheriff Sam Richardson said. “In Dorchester County, we have zero tolerance for violent crime or those who wish to undermine the safety of our citizens. This case demonstrates our office’s commitment to holding accountable those who break our laws.”

The investigation remains active but deputies did not say whether additional arrests are expected.

Both Gethers and Stone were being held at the L.C. Knight Detention Center.
