Man charged after 2 dead dogs found hanging from tree, sheriff’s office says
FORT PIERCE, Fla. (Gray News) – A man was arrested in connection to two dead dogs that were found hanged from a tree Sunday night, according to authorities.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said it investigated the alleged case of animal cruelty in a news release.
Deputies responded to the home for a civil matter at 5:30 p.m. where they talked with the resident, 42-year-old Salomon Cruz-Perez.

In the home’s backyard, deputies said they found the two dogs, a male and a female, dead, suspended by their necks from a tree and bound with ropes and chains.
The dogs’ bodies were collected by the St. Lucie County Animal Control and taken to Orlando for a necropsy.
Deputies arrested Cruz-Perez and charged him with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty resulting in death.
He is currently incarcerated at the St. Lucie County Jail with a bond set at $10,000.
Officials are continuing to investigate.
