HONOLULU (KHNL/Gray News) - Police in Honolulu are urging parents to talk to their children about stranger danger after a man attempted to lure young girls to his vehicle.

According to police, the incident happened near King Intermediate School at about 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said a man approached four girls, ages 11 and 12, and tried to lure them by offering a Hello Kitty plush doll from his car.

The girls got away from the man and reported the incident. There was no physical contact or injuries reported, police said.

The man in question is described as about 50 to 60 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with gray hair.

He was last seen wearing a light blue aloha shirt and brown pants.

The vehicle is believed to be a late-model dark blue Honda sedan with roof racks. The license plate is unknown.

Authorities urged anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers at 808-955-8300 or the Honolulu Police Department.

Police say parents and guardians should continue to speak with their little ones about how to respond in these types of situations.
