3rd ranked Amanda Anisimova commits to 2026 Charleston Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Amanda Anisimova, the 3rd ranked player in the world, will be playing on Daniel Island this year.

The two time Grand Slam finalist will take part in the 2026 Charleston Open the tournament announced on Friday.

“I’m really excited to play Charleston again. I’d love another shot at the title after having to retire in the semifinals last year,” Anisimova said in a statement. “The tournament and the city have such a fun atmosphere, and the fans mean a lot to me. I’m looking forward to coming back strong and competing again this spring.”

The 24-year-old reached the finals of both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in 2025 and was named the WTA’s Most Improved Player.

This will be her 6th time competing in the Lowcountry where she’s reached the semifinals twice including in 2025.

Anisimova joins a field that already includes defending champion Jessica Pegula, former champion Madison Keys and Lowcountry native Emma Navarro.
