Law enforcement agencies capture and charge Dorchester County inmate
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — A Dorchester County inmate who escaped custody while receiving treatment at a medical center a month ago has been captured.
Lauren Ashley Thrower, 32, has been charged with escape/attempt/possession of tools and probation violation.
Thrower was in custody at the Dorchester County Detention Center after being arrested for identity fraud. Officials said she had one hold from probation and parole and another from the Goose Creek Police Department.

Officials say she escaped custody while receiving treatment at Trident Medical Center and was last seen entering a white Volvo at the Dunkin’ Donuts on University Boulevard on March 15.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Fugitive Task Force, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the North Charleston Police Department assisted in the arrest.
Sheriff’s spokesman Steven Wright said the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Command Staff, the Criminal Investigations Division and other participating law enforcement agencies will hold a press conference to provide additional details about her arrest and the investigation.
The press conference will be held on April 20 at the Dorchester County Council Chambers at 11:30 a.m.
