Berkeley County to open new boat ramps on Lake Moultrie

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) — Boaters in Berkeley County will soon have access to new ramps on Lake Moultrie.
The county is preparing to offer boat access at its new waterfront park, bringing six ramps and parking to accommodate at least 180 boat trailers to the Moncks Corner site.
The site will include the following:
- Space for approximately 36 boats to be docked at the marina
- 4,200 sq. ft. open-air event pavilion
- Walking trail – 0.6 miles around the landing
- Two beaches – 58,000 sq. ft. of beach
- Picnic shelters and benches
- Public restroom facility
- Remodeling of current pavilion – 7,300 sq. ft. to provide space for rental opportunities
- 100’ flagpole with 30 x 50 ft. flag
- Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Safe Boat enclosure and independent dock for emergency services
- Emergency Call stations for 911 in the event of an emergency on site
- Power for vendors on-site during hosted/rented events
- Security cameras and free Wi-Fi
- 565 ft. break wall
- Dredged area to depth of 7.5 ft.
The new park will officially open May 15. The county will host a grand opening June 12, allowing the community to explore beaches, walking trails, picnic shelters, pavilions and more.
