NEW YORK (WCSC) — David Letterman hosted his final Late Show at the Ed Sullivan Theater on this day 11 years ago, ending a 33-year run with a total of 6,028 broadcasts.
For his final show, he had a slew of celebrities take part in his famed “Top Ten” segment and a compilation of U.S. presidents saying goodbye.
The Foo Fighters also performed “Everlong.”
Stephen Colbert took over as Late Show host Sept. 8, 2015.
