South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates fatal single-vehicle crash on U.S. 601

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating an early Sunday morning single-vehicle crash on U.S. 601.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m. on U.S. 601 at Family Circle. A 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on U.S. 601 when it went off the right side of the road and overturned, Lance Corporal Brittany Glover said.

The driver of the vehicle was injured and taken to a local hospital, where the driver later died, Glover said.

The Orangeburg County coroner’s office has not yet released the driver’s identity.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
