Authorities search for personal trainer who went missing after leaving Planet Fitness

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) - Authorities are looking for a woman who went missing after leaving Planet Fitness on Thursday.

According to the Lexington Police Department, 39-year-old Elena Katherine Moore was reported missing Friday. She was last seen leaving Planet Fitness at 560 Whiteford Way in Lexington, South Carolina, on Thursday.

Investigators said she signed in at Planet Fitness at 6:40 p.m. and was later seen walking away from the gym toward a wooded area behind a nearby Lowe’s store.

Moore is described as 5-foot-7 and 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants.

Authorities searched the wooded area, but found no trace of Moore.

LPD investigator Missy Silcox said Moore’s husband reported her missing, and as of Monday police do not suspect foul play nor do they believe Moore is in imminent danger.

Silcox said police believe Moore had a phone with her, but it was not pinging on Monday.
