Deputies search for answers in connection with 2021 Ravenel homicide

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any additional information about a homicide that killed a man five years ago.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at 9:35 p.m. and found a man shot several times behind his home. The man, 36-year-old Herbert Polite, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several people were interviewed, but there are no suspects in connection with the incident, deputies said.
