CHARLESTON, SC - College of Charleston men's basketball 6-foot-3 freshman guard Grant Riller (Ocoee, Fla.) is out for the season after injuring his left knee in practice.

A member of head coach Earl Grant and his staff's first signing class a year ago, Riller (pronounced RILL-lurr) earned recognition on the national recruiting scene, while playing on the AAU Basketball circuit for Q6 All-Stars. He averaged 29.1 points per game during his senior season at Ocoee High School, located just outside of Orlando, Fla.

"Grant worked extremely hard in the weight room and on the court this offseason to prepare himself for college basketball," Coach Grant said. "He is in great hands with our team physicians and we look forward to a speedy recovery for his return to the basketball court. Grant has a very bright future and we are excited about what he will eventually bring to our program."

Riller was voted the 2015 District 8A MVP by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and beat out LSU McDonald's All-American Antonio Blakeney from Oak Ridge High School, for player of the year honors. He also set his high school's single-game scoring record with 53 points against Leesburg in the championship game of the Ocoee Great 8 Boys Basketball Tournament, which earned him MVP honors in December of 2014.
