NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner has identified the victim of a shooting that happened early Thursday morning.

Dominique Greer, 19, of North Charleston, died from a gunshot wound.

Officers responded around 12:20 Thursday morning to the Marathon gas station on the 3500 block of Dorchester Road for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found a man, now identified as Greer, lying on the ground outside in front of the store suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite officers’ attempts at life-saving measures, Greer died at the scene around 12:30 a.m.

Following his death, officers began to investigate, finding several witnesses and shell casings.

Police met with the owners of the business and, upon reviewing security footage, determined that multiple suspects got out of a blue pickup truck and shot the victim multiple times as he walked out of the store. The suspects then fled the scene. Officers have not yet been able to locate the vehicle.

No arrests have been made at this time.

North Charleston Police Detectives are investigating.
