Personal medical data possibly exposed in Healthcare Interactive, Inc. data breach

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A South Carolina healthcare company is confirming a data breach that may have exposed your sensitive personal and medical information.

Healthcare Interactive Incorporated says it discovered suspicious activity on its computer network in late July 2025 and quickly secured its systems.

An investigation found that an unauthorized actor accessed and copied files earlier that month.

Information possibly impacted includes names, contact details, social security numbers, and medical and insurance data.

The company began notifying the more than 100,000 affected South Carolinians in early December.

Officials now urge anyone who receives a letter to review it carefully and monitor their accounts.
